Hailing from Salt Lake City, James started riding mountain bikes with his dad at 8 years old and began racing them in junior high. A former Utah and Nevada state junior MTB champ, he bought his first dirt bike in college after watching the Terrafirma VHS tapes and has been regularly spotted devouring alpine singletrack all over Utah and Colorado ever since.
James was invited by Bryant to try racing desert and offroad in early 2023. After coming in dead last at the final UMORA round that year, he started working with Alex Martin's Troll Training program and the staff at Fit To Recover in Salt Lake. 2024 saw James take home the series overall C40+ Utah state championship plate; he is racing the B40+ class in 2025.
When he's not on track on his YZ250FX, cruising BDRs on his Tenere 700 or pedaling his mountain bike, you might catch James in perhaps the worst-named punk band of all time: Racist Kramer.
James is proudly sponsored by Fit To Recover, covets Troy Lee Designs kits and eats a lot of breakfast burritos at the Park Cafe in Salt Lake.
